Situated on the Atlantic beach in the Vendee, La Tranche sur Mer is one of the loveliest and most accessible holiday destinations in France, and only a few degrees North of Mediterranean resorts. La Tranche sur Mer offers the same annual hours of sunshine, yet only three hours drive from St.Malo. The nearest beach is easy walking distance. The more adventurous can indulge in wind surfing, surf boarding, sail boarding, in fact water sport of every description, on miles of unspoiled golden sandy beaches nearby.

Garden with large private rear terrace, which gets full sun most of the day, ideal for those that wish to sunbathe nearer to home comforts, or just wish to chill out in peace. Ideal accommodation for those who seek just to get away, an individual holiday that only self cater can offer. Master bedroom with en-suite. Two bedrooms with twin single beds. Market two days per week. Supermarket minutes by car. Surfboards, sailboards, wetsuits, mountain bikes, all available for hire locally. Wave school at Marina caters for children of all ages (6-60). Airstrip, karting, golf course nearby. Gently sloping sandy beaches amongst the cleanest in the world. Surveillance and lifeguards on main beaches; slightly further afield, you will find quite beaches with miles of quiet unspoilt golden sand are ideal for relaxed textile free sunbathing . (naturist beach nearby) For those not into sunworship, there's loads to do; be it in La Tranche itself, or exploring the Vendee, Marais Vert, La Rochelle, Sable d'Olonne, one hour.

La Tranche Sur Mer is a quiet little town with a population of about fifteen hundred. The principle activities are no longer based on fishing and agriculture. In the Vendee, tourism and leisure have taken their toll, and in La Tranche, the population in peak season rises to fifteen thousand or so. That said you will find as much or as little as you wish to do. You will not find high rise developments or timeshare. The town has retained it's essential character. At times it can be very busy particularly on market days, but for the most part remains "tranquille". Otherwise, untroubled by telephone, television, bathroom scales, bills, junk mail, and in the complete absence of a trouser press, you will enjoy a quiet and relaxing holiday in one of the sunniest parts of France.
The house is situated in a quiet peaceful area. It is a 'new' property, completed in March 1990, built in the traditional style of the Vendee, white walls, terracotta tiled roof and external shutters, tiled floors inside with white walls.
It has central heating, double glazing and security locks. Air conditioning was installed early in 1998 and, combined with a high standard of insulation affords comfort in the hottest of hot weather, always provided that you take care to keep doors closed.

Rental periods run from Saturday to Saturday unless by prior arrangement. Regrettably, it has become necessary to take a surety bond in respect of breakages etc. This is fully refundable subject to the house being left clean, and no damage being done. (If you wish we will supply you with details of damage done to date and scores achieved.)
A deposit of 20% is required with booking, the balance due eight weeks prior to your holiday. All payments in Sterling. See here for conditions that form the basis of the rental contract.
We attempt to be fair, sometimes brutally fair. Reservations can only be confirmed when paid for. In the past we have been left in an awkward position hanging on to reservations which have not been taken up, whilst enquiries for that same time were turned away. To that end reservations have to be along a first past the post basis. Not literally, but we cannot hold a reservation if payment is not forthcoming. Please, if you are EX Directory, it would help if you could ensure that we have a contact number.
